Mars is a multitalented singer, songwriter, producer and musician who feels most at home when he’s performing. After graduating high school in his native Hawaii, Mars left for Los Angeles with dreams of launching his career as a performer. Those dreams got put on hold when The Smeezingtons, the songwriting/production team he founded with Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, suddenly took off. The pair crafted major hits for a diverse roster of talent, including Flo Rida’s “Right Round”, Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire”, and Brandy’s “Long Distance”. Mars initially received attention for co-writing, producing and performing on B.o.B’s #1 “Nothin’ On You” followed by Travie McCoy’s chart-climbing “Billionaire”. On the heels of “Nothin’ on You” and “Billionaire” Elektra Records released a 4-song EP aptly titled “It’s Better If You Don’t

Understand”. His latest, “Doo-wops & Hooligans”, has been turning out hit after hit since it debuted in October. In addition, Mars was recently named to TIME Magazine’s list of “100 Most Influential People” list for 2011.

As a thank you to their loyal fans, in August '09, the duo released Live On The Inside, a CD/DVD set of live tracks, covers and footage from their "Love On The Inside" tour. The same month ABC aired an hour-long network special featuring the pair in their most beloved setting...on stage. The holiday season brought about Gold And Green, a 10-track holiday collection consisting of half standards and the other half originals, all of which Nettles and Bush co-wrote and co-produced. They've received trophies from the Grammys, American Music Awards, the Academy of Country Music, CMT Music Awards and the Country Music Association.
