Champlain Valley Fair!

Aug. 29 - Sept. 7, 2009

"Stimulate This!" with STAIND, SHINEDOWN,

CHEVELLE and HALESTORM

Monday, August 31 at 7 pm

Alt rock mavens Staind, Shinedown, Chevelle and Halestorm will bring their “Stimulate This!” tour, a four-band bill designed to offer fans maximum value at a minimal price, to the Champlain Valley Fair on Monday, August 31. The bands will appear on the Comcast Stage in the Coca Cola Grandstand starting at 7 pm. Tickets for the concert, which is part of the 2009 Bud Light True Music series, go on sale at the Flynn Theater Box Office in Burlington on Friday, May 29 at 10 am. Tickets are also available at Copy Ship Fax Plus at 159 Pearl Street in Essex Junction, a Flynn ticket outlet. The show is presented by radio station 99.9 The Buzz.

The “Stimulate This!” tour will hit more than 40 U.S. markets, including some of the hardest hit by the recession. In a show of solidarity for their fans, the four bands have worked closely with the concert promoters to create a package of exceptional value for ticket buyers. “Wall Street got its bailout; now it’s time for rock fans to get theirs,” said Staind frontman Aaron Lewis. “This summer, we want to give our fans one night where they can forget about everything else and experience a great rock show.”  In addition, local concertgoers who purchase their tickets prior to the July 4th weekend will save $10 off the already-discounted price.

Staind’s latest album, The Illusion of Progress, marks the band’s fourth consecutive studio album to debut in the top 3 on the Billboard 200 and features the #1 alternative rock song, “Believe.” The Atlantic recording group’s decade-long career is marked by more than 12 million in album sales worldwide and five #1 singles spanning three different radio formats.

**Atlantic recording group Shinedown's latest single, "Second Chance," is proving to be a cross-over smash, earning the band its highest chart position yet on the pop charts. The track has already gone to #1 at Active Rock and #2 at Alternative. ** Multi-platinum Epic recording artists Chevelle have just wrapped up recording their highly anticipated new album Letter From a Thief which will hit stores later this summer. Letter From a Thief follows 2007’s smash, Vena Sera. **Atlantic recording group Halestorm just released their self-titled debut album. Halestorm is an explosive collection of infectious hard rock anthems, a fiery flurry of sexy hooks and rough and tumble grooves. Steering this runaway train is singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale, who brings a hypnotic intensity to such tracks as the sensual first single “I Get Off,” which is bulleting up the top 30 on the Active Rock radio chart.

Kid Rock and his Rock N Roll Jesus Tour

Hit the Champlain Valley Fair

Kid Rock

The Champlain Valley Fair will wrap up its 2009 Concerts with Kid Rock, who brings his Rock N Roll Jesus tour to the Comcast Stage in the Coca Cola Grandstand on Sunday, September 6 at 7 pm. The concert will is part of the 2009 Bud Light True Music Series at the Champlain Valley Fair.

Kid Rock’s latest album, Rock N Roll Jesus, is considered by many critics to be his most honest, eclectic, and soulful record to date.  Without sounding forced or contrived, the songs on Rock N Roll Jesus glide through Rock’s favorite musical genres:  country, rock, punk, and hip-hop.  “All Summer Long” is as evocative of an adolescent romance in Michigan as Bob Seger’s “Night Moves.”  Cuts like “New Orleans” and “Don’t Tell Me U Love Me” draw on the classic rock and country he heard at his parents’ parties.

By whatever name you call him – Rock & Roll Jesus, the Detroit Cowboy, American Badass, the Early Morning Stoned Pimp, or just plain Bobby – you won’t forget Kid Rock,  at the Champlain Valley Fair on Sunday, September 6. Tickets for Kid Rock go on sale on Friday, April 24, at the Flynn Theater Box Office in Burlington. They are available online at www.flynntix.org. Tickets are also available at Copy, Ship, Fax Plus at 159 Pearl Street in Essex Junction.

KELLY CLARKSON COMES TO THE FAIR!

Kelly Clarkson, who came to the attention of music fans in 2002 as the winner of the first “American Idol” competition on Fox, brings her high energy show to the Champlain Valley Fair this summer. Clarkson, who recently claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in record-breaking time, will appear as part of the Bud Light True Music Series in the Coca-Cola Grandstand on Friday, September 4 at 7 pm. The show is sponsored by radio station 95 Triple X.

Tickets are available at the Flynn Box Office in person, by phone, 86-FLYNN (863-5966) or at www.flynntix.org. Tickets are also available at Copy, Ship, Fax Plus at 159 Pearl Street, Essex Junction, VT 05452 (879-3719).

With her fourth album, All I Ever Wanted, Clarkson demonstrates her eagerness to continue branching out, and to push her music in new and unexpected directions. Though she has sold over twenty million records around the world; landed eight singles in the Top Ten; and won Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards, and even been nominated for a CMA Award, she maintains that she's far more interested in challenging herself than in repeating herself.

Clarkson points to the album's first single, "My Life Would Suck Without You" (produced by pop wizards Dr. Luke and Max Martin and written by the two with Claude Kelly) as an example of her need to personalize and connect with all of her material. "They write great catchy, sassy songs," she says. "But it became a very different song from how it started. We changed the point of view, and other things throughout, because we had to make it more Kelly Clarkson.” The song entered Billboard’s Hot 100 in January at position 97, and reached #1 within ten days, setting a record for largest leap in the shortest time span.
