Guy's Farm and Yard Presents
U.S. Breyer
Horse Tour
Dear Model Horse Enthusiast,
Thank you for requesting more information about our 2008 Breyer Tour Event. This is set to be an exciting and unique weekend with model horses!
We are one of only four Breyer Tour Events
in the United States for 2008!

This will be the best chance for you to get the special tour model “Caliente,” a fiery red chestnut Lusitano stallion!! These models are limited to one per person and are highly sought out by collectors around the world.
We are excited to be part of the 2008 Everything Equine Expo held each April at the Champlain Valley Exposition Center in Essex Junction, Vermont. Throughout the weekend you’ll be able to pick up new Breyer models at the Guy’s Farm & Yard Breyer booth. Author Ellen Feld will be here to sign her books and let you meet “Blackjack”, the real Morgan horse that inspired the stories and has been created into a Breyer Model Horse! Do you have questions about how to get involved with the model horse hobby? Stop by the Hobby Information Booth. For the 14 years and younger crowd, be sure to stop by the 4-H Kid’s Corner and paint a Stablemate Breyer and try some trivia games! When you’re not busy in the Breyer area, be sure to check out all the other vendors and seminars going on in the adjoining buildings. Live horse demonstrations and seminars will be presented by top equine personnel!
Your ticket for Saturday will include entrance into “Everything Equine” and all their free events, the 2008 Breyer Tour Model “Caliente,” and a special lunch for tour attendees with guest speakers including a Breyer representative and author Ellen Feld. We’ll have seminars allowing you to learn the tips and tricks for fixing your broken Breyer, an introduction to model horse showing, and tips for insuring your model horse collection along with identifying those older models. You’ll also be able to stop and shop for older, vintage models, tack and props in the model horse sales arena.
On Sunday be sure to join us for our 13th Annual Vermont Live Model Horse Show. There are divisions for the novice exhibitor who’s always wanted to check out the world of showing, to the veteran exhibitor. Classes are held for both halter showing, where the model is judged on breed standards as well as collectability, and in performance classes where the goal is to set up the most realistic diorama as possible. If you’re still not sure about it, then stop by and hang out in the visitor’s area and watch how a model horse show works. However, you must register early (and separately) if you plan to show as space is limited!
Registrations will be accepted on a first-come basis as seating is limited for both the lunch and the model horse show. The deadline for the lunch ticket and show registration is Saturday, April 5. Hotel accommodations are available for a discount at select hotels in the area. Be sure to mention that you’re with “Everything Equine”.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Lindy Pinkham - Vet Services For The Model Horse: Lindy Pinkham lives in Camden, Maine with her husband Tim. She has been involved in the model horse hobby since 1971. She was collecting even before that. Her huge model horse collection includes Breyers, Hagen Renakers and other brands. She enjoys judging at live shows, creating award winning model horse tack and etched models. She has taught workshops at Breyerfest in Kentucky and at Equine Affair in Ohio & Mass.
Robin Briscoe - Safety By the Numbers, Insuring Your Model Horse Collection. Also presenting: Who Am I? Identifying your Model Horse: Robin Briscoe has been collecting Breyer model horses since 1976. Her first model was the #30 Alabaster Fighting Stallion and he has been followed by over 1500 plastic ponies cantering onto her shelves. Although Robin's vocation is veterinary medicine, she pursues her equine passion through the model horse hobby. Robin is well known in the hobby as a judge, educator and competitor. She has done some work for Breyer, including the creation of the Country Gig, advertising dioramas, writing for Breyer's magazine "Just About Horses", and managing a large group of volunteers at the annual collector's event, "Breyerfest". In the show ring, she is most fond of Harness and Jumper classes, pursuing the blue ribbon with entries that are very detailed and as correct representation of the real horse world as can be made. Robin has been making model scale wood jumps and leather harness since the early 1990's and although she rarely offers her work up for sale, there are some very nice examples in collections all over the United States. In addition to collecting Breyers and other HSOs (horse shaped objects), Robin collects 1/9th scale model carriages by BD Wagons in OK, Nordwain in the UK, and tack by Lindy Pinkham and Linda Dean of Maine, among others. Robin is very approachable and is willing to answer any questions you may have about collecting and the model horse hobby.
Jill Floyd - Model Showing 101: Jill Floyd, from Colchester, Vermont, has been collecting model horses for the majority of her life and now has over 700 models. Jill started live showing in 1996 and loves to show in the performance divisions, especially with her english side-saddles. She makes the majority of her own tack and props, and has taught clinics about the model horse hobby and making tack in both Vermont and at Breyerfest in Kentucky. She grew up riding horses in various disciplines and has been able to combine the knowledge she learned riding into the hobby and vice versa.
