More than 7,000 attendees are expected at this year’s event, a combination educational event/consumer trade show/social get-together for horse enthusiasts from throughout New England, New York and Canada. In recent years it has grown to become a respected resource for everyone in the equine industry to get the latest health and equine care information through 60 seminars and demonstrations. In addition, the indoor Poulin Grain Arena and separate demo pen will provide an up-close opportunity for education and interaction. Children, too, will find a space just for them in the 4-H Kids Korner in the Blue Seal Blue Ribbon Pavilion offering activities, games and information about horses.

Model Horse Competition and Seminars

On Saturday join Guy's Farm and Yard for the 14th Annual Vermont Live Model Horse Show. There are divisions for the entire spectrum of model exhibitors and enthusiasts, from the novice exhibitor who’s always wanted to check out the world of showing to the veteran exhibitor.

Classes are held for both halter showing, where the model is judged on breed standards as well as collectability, and in performance classes where the goal is to set up the most realistic diorama as possible. Stop by the visitor’s area and watch how a model horse show works. Register early if you plan to show, as space is limited!

On Sunday we’ll have seminars allowing you to learn the tips and tricks for fixing your broken model horse, an introduction to model horse showing, and tips for insuring your model horse collection along with identifying those older models. Or participate in one of our hands on workshops where you can learn the fine art of “etching” model horses or how to judge those model horse classes. You’ll also be able to stop and shop for older, vintage models, tack and props in the model horse sales arena.
