Clay Walker Replaces Rodney Atkins at this Sunday’s WOKO Country Club Music Festival at the Champlain Valley Fair
Rodney Atkins, scheduled to headline this Sunday’s WOKO Country Club Music Festival at the Champlain Valley Fair, had been ordered by his doctor not to perform due to a throat and sinus infection. This Sunday’s performance is one of many tour dates over the next two weeks Atkins was forced to cancel. With just 36 hours before the start of the festival this Sunday at 1pm, Atkin’s good friend and fellow Country Superstar, Clay Walker, agreed to help out and replace Rodney as the festival’s headliner.
With over 20 top hits, Curb Records Recording Artist Clay Walker recently again cracked the top ten with his hit single, She Won't Be Lonely Long.
In addition to Walker, the line up also includes Aaron Tippin, Love and Theft, Gwen Sebastian and acoustic performances by Jamie Lee Thurston and Keeghan Nolan. Gates open at 10 am with the music from 1-7 pm. Seating is General Admission and attendees are encouraged to bring and set up blankets, lawn and beach chairs in front of the stage.
Because of the late substitution, the Champlain Valley Fair will now make tickets available for sale outside the Red Gate (near the Miller Building) starting at 10am this Sunday. This major concession by the Champlain Valley Fair will enable day-of ticket buyers to save the extra $10 they would have had to pay to purchase tickets at the Flynn Box Office inside the Grandstand.
Tippin, who has been a hit on the country scene since the early 1990’s, has had his share of gold and platinum albums as well. His songwriting skills have earned him the admiration of other stars, including Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks and Charlie Pride, who have recorded his work. Newcomers Gwen Sebastian and Love and Theft bring energy, personality and a different perspective to the country music scene.

As in past years, festival seating will be General Admission, with blankets, lawn and beach chairs encouraged in the open space in front of the Coca-Cola Grandstand (where folding chairs are normally set up). Gates will open at 10 am, the show is scheduled to start at 1 pm. Entertainers will perform throughout the afternoon on the Comcast Stage, with the concert concluding at approximately 7 pm. Fans who buy their tickets in advance also receive free gate admission to the Champlain Valley Fair, and may come and go between the Fair and the Festival as they wish.
